Company Credentials & Safety

Safety is the top priority for us.

We approach safety by ensuring we have good systems in place to support qualified paid professionals on the ground. This approach has a number of key foundations:

• Detailed staff selection and good individual management
• Clear, simple company procedures
• Good communications and call-in system
• Small core staff team with long-term knowledge of staff and clients
• Quality Assurance policy

The Staff Team
The quality of all our products is dependent on the instructors, trainers and activity co-ordinators. Expedition leaders and instructors are vetted and assessed in their operating environments.

Company Procedures
Company procedures have been assessed and approved by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) and BCU. Trainer to pupil ratios are kept as low as possible and well within national body recommendations.

We have been checked by a number of organisations including AALA, BCU, CAA for our ATOL bond, HSE for our First Aid Provision and our insurance company. Full details can be found in our Due Diligence Pack.

Insurance
All activities are covered by a comprehensive insurance scheme. Within the U.K. we are covered by Jardine Lloyd Thompson and overseas trips are covered by Campbell Irvine. Our Public Liability is £5 million and our Employer Liability is £10 million.

Communication
We have a comprehensive communication system for all our programmes. Two systems of communications are maintained and a back-up call in time is also in place. Our HELP- LINE can be contacted during normal working hours (01344 774430). In addition the 24hr number is 01344 777741.
